Overweight People - Lose weight effectively
by
Lisa Becker
Overweight people weigh more
but do not necessarily have a lot of fat deposits. Many have
huge muscles, which do not contain adipose tissue or fats. Their
weight is mainly due to muscles. Overweight people need to
maintain a regular exercise regimen and keep a strict eye on
their diet.
Overweight people become so as the intake
of calories is higher than number of calories your body uses for
different body activities. Excessive body weight can be a
genetic factor or due to diseases like hypothyroidism. Some
medicines like prednisone also lead to gain in weight. Arthritis
patients gain weight, as they cannot do much physical activities
or exercises. Bad eating habits also accumulate unnecessary
calories, which led to excess weight over a period.
Overweight people can typically reduce
their weight by adhering to a healthy, balanced diet, and
undertaking regular and consistent physical activities or
exercises. This is true for arthritis patients too. Physical
activity need not be strenuous, just a brisk walking daily for
few minutes, walking after dinner, walking through zoos and
aquariums, low impact swimming or water aerobics, walking short
distances like a little ahead of bus stop or through parking
spaces to your stores or movie halls can do wonders to your
weight. Similarly, take smaller and fewer helpings of foods and
keep an eye on foods you eat. Avoid eating during television
programs and fix realistic goals like losing around half a pound
every week, to start with.
However, a
word of caution for overweight people before embarking on your
weight loss programs – check with your physician on which type
of physical activities you can do depending on your physical
health. Normally, overall physical activity covering
muscle-strengthening, aerobic, and stretching exercises for
around half an hour daily will yield positive results.
