The Subway
Diet

Its hard not to relate to the down to earth
Subway Diet made popular by the Jared character on TV
commercials. Featured for the past several years and made
popular by the easy to relate to character of Jared Fogle, the
Subway Diet promises weight loss for those to follow the low-fat
sub sandwich diets the fast food chain provides.
While we think Subway does a fine job at
offering a more healthful alternative to traditional fast food
options, the Subway Diet is hardly one we would recommend as a
viable option. While a low fat diet of 6 grams or less has
some merits, as a standalone dietary option it simply does not
rate with the balanced nutritional options featured by
eDiets,
Bob Greene, or the
South Beach Diet.
While its admirable that the Jared character
lost his weight by following the now famous Subway Diet of a low
fat Sub for each and every meal, the high carb and restricted
diet plan with little to no emphasis on exercise does not lead
to a viable, permanent weight loss program. The cost is
also a huge factor, compared to other online diet plan options
which allow for regular grocery store menu items to be followed
and adopted for life.
If you're looking for a lunch option on the spur
of the moment, the Subway Diet of a low fat sub without oils or
condiments is a reasonable option. But if you're looking
for a true weight loss program that is most likely to yield long
term results, you're better off with a balanced diet plan
featuring a full nutrition and reasonable approach to exercise
than the limited restricted menu of a fast food chain.
